The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III has conferred the title of Fiwajoye of Yoruba Land on an aspirant under the All Progressives Congress in the 2021 gubernatorial elections in Anambra state and Managing Director of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Chief George Moghalu.
In a Facebook post made by the newly decorated Chief, Moghalu expressed delight at the honour given to him by the First class Monarch and prayed that the Almighty God helps him to bring greater glory to Yorubaland as a worthy Ambassador of the Oyo kingdom.
His words: “To the glory of God, I must say that I am truly honoured as I express my gratitude to the Alaafin of Oyo, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, Iku Baba Yeye, for conferring on me the title of “Fiwajoye of Yoruba Land” meaning, “Character Role Model of Yoruba land” as part of celebration activities marking the 50th coronation anniversary of the Alaafin of Oyo.
“I pray that the almighty God will help me bring greater glory to this land as a worthy Ambassador of this ancient land of Oyo kingdom.”
Chief Moghalu who is from Nnewi in Nnewi North Local Government of Anambra State was an aspirant under the All Progressives Congress in the recent gubernatorial elections in Anambra state.
