Amid Protests Over Aresa-Adu, Oba Aranyin Pleads With Oyo State Governor Makinde Once Again

HRM Lasisi Olagbemileke Oladimeji, the Aranyin of Iranyin, Surulere LGA, Oyo State, who in February 2026 made frantic appeals to the Oyo state Governor Seyi Makinde, on the Aresa of Iresa-Adu throne vacancy, have once again appealed to His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on the enthronement of the Aresa of Iresa-Adu, which has remained vacant for almost 10years ago.

Oba Lasisi Oladimeji, Aranyin of Iranyin land, was a seasoned politician, an elder statesman, a former PDP chieftain in Ogbomoso Zone who was instrumental in the electoral successes of Governor Seyi Makinde and House of Representative, Hon. Smato Ojo Makanjuola in Surulere/Ogooluwa constituency. Oba Lasisi Oladimeji pleaded with Governor Makinde that ignoring this outreach on the Aresa-Adu matter may further comprise the security of Oyo State, as Obas, Baales, and stakeholders in the geographical area under the Aresa-Adu find it difficult to coordinate and make strong security changes without the Aresa of Iresa-Adu on the throne.

Iresa-Adu is the headquater of Surulere LGA in Ogbomoso Zone and has the largest land in Surulere LGA. Coordinated efforts remain difficult amongst villages and suburbs without Aresa-Adu on throne. Surulere LGA share boundaries with Oriire LGA in Oyo State which recently witnessed kidnapping of teachers and school children. Whilst praising the Governor’s relentless efforts in the safe return of the teachers and children. The Kabiyesi emphasise the need for the government to be proactive and not reactive,  on all security concerns in  Oyo state. One of such pro-actions is the speedy enthronement of the Aresa-Adu.
