Bayo Adelabu Dumps Accord, announces Return to APC

The Minister of Power of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Gubernatorial candidate for Accord party in the Oyo 2023 election, Adebayo Adelabu, has announced his intention to return to the All Progressives Congress (APC) after leaving the party amidst a crisis during the build-up to the Oyo 2023 elections.

You will recall that Adebayo Adelabu announced his resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC) after losing to Senator Teslim Folarin by more than 600 votes during the primaries.

In a letter addressed to the State Chairman and all Progressive Party Congress (APC) leaders in Oyo State, Adelabu stated that he will officially announce his return at a ceremony to be held at the Party Office in Oke-Ado on 15th December, 2023.

Adelabu, who left the party alongside his loyal followers during a period of turmoil within the party, cited consultations with National Leaders and Executives as the reason for his decision to return. He also mentioned a courtesy visit to the Party National Chairman, where they agreed on the imperatives of his return to the party.

As a serving Minister of Power of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under President Tinubu’s administration, Adelabu expressed his desire for a robust working relationship with the State Executive, Party Leaders, and entire party members towards achieving the renewed hope Agenda of Mr. President and the party at large. He also emphasized his goal of installing an APC-led Government at the State level in 2027 for unprecedented development of Oyo State.
