BREAKING: Court Dismisses Oyo Deputy Governor’s Suit Challenging Impeachment Process

Justice Ladiran Akintola of the Oyo State High Court on Thursday, dismissed a case filed by the state’s deputy governor, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan to challenge the House of Assembly’s move to impeach him from office.

The judge held that the lawmakers and all the defendants have not erred on the procedures taken on the impeachment process.

While delivering judgement, Ladiran said that originating summons filed by the claimant was purely legislative procedure and not judicial in line with the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
