French Govt meets Makinde, Expresses Readiness to Massively Invest in Oyo

The French government has expressed its readiness to massively invest in Oyo state particularly in areas of agriculture, health, and other amenities that would support infrastructural development in the state.

The French Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Pasquire Jerome, made this known when he paid a courtesy visit on Governor Seyi Makinde in his office, this Monday.

Ambassador Pasquier explained that the state has witnessed an appreciable sense of development since his last visit and pledged to prevail on his people in facilitating more investment opportunities in Oyo state.

Governor Seyi Makinde in response noted that since assumption of office, Oyo state has experienced a positive change in its socio-economic landscape, adding that the internally generated revenue (IGR) of the state had recorded 26.4% growth as the government remained committed to addressing its infrastructural deficit.

While explaining that the state is ready for business, Governor Makinde drew the attention of the French envoy to the state agric initiative called STEP and expressed confidence that partnership with France would bring better fortune.

The French Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Pasquire Jerome was accompanied by the France Consul General in Lagos, Laurence Monmayrant, and other top diplomatic officials.
