Governor Makinde Declares Public Holiday for Hijrah 1445

In a recent announcement, the Governor of Oyo State, ‘Seyi Makinde, has declared Wednesday, July 19, 2023, as a public holiday in the state to mark this year’s Hijrah 1445. This decision comes as Wednesday also marks the first day of Muharram 1445AH, signifying the beginning of the Islamic New Year.

The declaration was made through a circular signed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi.
