Queen Damilola, one of the estranged wives of 83-year-old Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, has tendered an unreserved apology to the monarch and the entire royal family for speaking negatively of the monarch after she left the palace in April 2021.
The estranged queen left the palace after she was allegedly locked up in a cell for going against the palace rule.
Days after her departure from the palace, Damilola began to speak on why she left.
In many of her comments, she bashed the monarch and the palace.
In a new development, Queen Damilola, in a post shared on her Instagram page, apologised to Oba Adeyemi for speaking ill of him.
She mentioned that frustration and some friends, misled her to leave the palace.
Queen Damilola wrote: “I want to use this medium to tender unreserved apologies to the entire family of Adeyemi (Alaafin of Oyo) over my last post.
“Please, I want you all to know that I’m not under duress in sending this message and that I’m in a good state of mind.
“That all I said in my last post about leaving the palace and that Alaafin was not taking care of me and all what I said negatively concerning him (Alaafin) was false. It was friends that misled me and out of frustration.
“But now things are clear and I’m sincerely sorry for trying to bring down the royal family.
“I have been to Lagos and Abuja to seek the forgiveness of the royal family.
“I write this in tears and beg every good mother to please plead to my husband (Alaafin of Oyo) on my behalf to forgive me.
“And to all those that contribute one money or the other, when I get back to the palace, I will definitely refund.
“Thanks, especially to those that understand that there is no place like home.”
