Iseyin-born Jurist Succeeds Odili as Number 2 Man In Nigeria’s Judiciary

Iseyin-born Olukayode Ariwoola is now the number two man in the Nigeria judiciary.

This is coming after the retirement of Mary Odili, justice of the Supreme Court, who turned 70 on 12th May 2022.

A valedictory session was held in honour of the wife of former Rivers Governor Peter Odili last Thursday.

63-year-old Ariwoola, an alumnus of the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria, is now second in command to the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Ibrahim Muhammad.

Born 22 August 1958, Ariwoola is a Nigerian jurist and Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. He was formerly a Justice of the Nigerian courts of appeal. On the 22nd of November, 2011, he was appointed to the bench of the supreme court of Nigeria as Justice, sworn in by the Chief Justice of Nigeria.
