Lagos Guber Poll: BCOS Reporter, Cameraman, Attacked By Political Thugs


A reporter with the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State, BCOS Lekan Shobowale, his cameraman Folorunsho Abiala were on Saturday attacked by suspected political thugs.

The incident was reported to had occurred at Onigbongbo area of Lagos State.

The crew which consists a driver, camera man and reporter were on election monitoring duties when the thugs led by a woman who claimed to be an observer queried the presence of the crew around the pooling units after which they made efforts to forcefully collect the camera.

Also, the attacker in a dramatic style beat up members of United Nations Observer team in what they described as their intimidating presence at the pooling units area.

An eye witness Engr Ajibade Adetayo told BCOS that the the crew were attacked because of the game plan already put in place by a particular political party.

He added that a form to be signed after the election exercise was also said to had been signed already by a political party.
