Madraza Proprietor Charged to Court for Allegedly Raping Minors in Saki

A proprietor of a school and an Islamic centre (Madraza), Alfa Yekeen Wasiu has today charged to court after days of being remanded in police custody for allegedly raping some underage pupils in Saki, Oyo state.

In his confession, as uploaded in a video on the timeline of a group for Saki indigenes, #Sakifirst on May 27, 2022, the Quran teacher who appears to be in his thirties said he’s been operating the school and Madraza since 2015.

Report has it that a family of a victim (a minor), had reported the situation to concerned authorities.

Upon report of two other families, residents took action to report to the police which made the alleged pedophile, Alfa Wasiu take to his heels, but was later caught after some hours.

Though an Oyo indigene, Alfa Wasiu resides in Saki with his veiled wife (Eleha) and four children.

During interrogation in the video, Alfa Wasiu was asked to name some of the girls he had slept with or assaulted, which he numbered up to 6. However, residents and families of victims claim they are over 16 minors.

Meanwhile, Wasiu later confessed that others were little children whom he only touched, by running his hands over their bodies.

The oldest of the victims, who is 13 years old, narrated that Alfa Wasiu would ask them to go into his office then lock the door after him, while going later to tap on the window for it to be opened to allow him gain entrance after which he asks them to remove their clothes and hijab.

She said he would sleep with them separately and send them out when he is done.

When asked how often the suspect assaults them, the girls mentioned it could be as worse as five times a week.

In a chat with our correspondent, #Sakifirst owner claimed that some of the victims were taken to the hospital for tests where it was confirmed that about four of them had been deflowered.
