Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state has awarded full scholarships to 136 students across 33 LGAs and 35 LCDAs to study Community Health at the Oyo State College of Nursing and Midwifery, Eleyele, Ibadan.
Also, these selected students will be integrated back into their communities after graduation as employees of Public Health Centers being renovated across the State by the Gov Makinde Administration.
Speaking with the SA Project Delivery, Mr Abiodun Oluwaseun, the Provost of the institution, Mrs. Mogbonjubola stated that in times past, the institution has been enjoying providence from their Alumni body, private sponsors, and even the Nigerian Army.
She added that the love and support shown by His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde FNSE, to the institution, has attracted the attention of NBTE and international organizations.
The Provost, on behalf of the management, appreciated the State government for accreditation funds and for being integrated into the Ministry of Education.
In his words, the SA Project Delivery, Mr Abiodun Oluwaseun (Laurel) who was on a working visit admonished the students on scholarship and the entire students to be good ambassadors of their families, communities, institution, and themselves, as that is the only way to pay back the trust and belief reposed on them by His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde FNSE. He expressed satisfaction at the utilization of the funds invested in the institution by the State government. He cited examples of how the institution makes use of electronic boards to tutor the students.
He also added that education, being an integral project of the Seyi Makinde accelerated development plan for Oyo state is poised to better the lots of students and make sure they attain enviable heights.
