The Governor of Oyo state, Engr. Seyi Makinde has appealed to the SouthWest stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) to accommodate peace and protect the interest of all members within the party.
The Governor made this plea on Sunday, while hosting the leaders of Ondo State PDP, who were at the Government House, Agodi, Ibadan, on a visit, as well as to express their gratitude for his support in the last Ondo governorship election and declare support for his leadership of the party in the SouthWest.
Makinde, according to a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, told the delegation from Ondo that the party would continue to seek peace in the South West zone due to the importance of the zone to the progress and stability of the country.
The Governor also encouraged that party reaches out to aggrieved members and ensure reconciliation from all ends.
Also, Governor Makinde, while assuring that all crisis within the South West would be resolved soon, equally urged disgruntled parties in Ekiti and other states of the South West to sheath their swords.
He blamed the media for projecting above normal the disagreements within the two fractions in Ekiti state.
Meanwhile in his speech, the Ondo State PDP chairman, Mr. Fatai Adams, maintained that the Ondo State chapter of the party recognised Governor Makinde as the South-West PDP leader and would give all the necessary support to reposition the party.
