The Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, this Thursday, flagged off the remodelling of the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
The event which took place at the Main Bowl of the Lekan Salami Stadium had in attendance top government officials, the state commissioner for Youths and Sports, Honourable Seun Fakorede, the management of Lekan Salami Stadium, sports lovers, amongst others.
In his address, Governor Makinde explained that the total contract sum for the remodelling of the Lekan Salami Sports Complex is Five Billion, Five Hundred and Eighty Million, One Thousand One Hundred and Fifty-One Naira, Sixty-Two Kobo.
Governor Makinde who hinted that the project will be funded via the Alternate Project Funding Approach (APFA), maintained that the project will be completed in 18 months.
In a similar vein, Governor Makinde inaugurated Barrister Lateef Idowu Oyeleke as the State’s new Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources.
The inauguration of the new Commissioner for the environment came to fore 48 hours after the state house of assembly screened and confirmed the commissioner designate.
In his speech, Governor Makinde maintained that the appointment of Barrister Oyeleke was based on merit, and charged the new Commissioner for the environment to the fair in the discharge of his constitutional responsibilities.
In his remark, the new Commissioner for the environment, barrister Lateef Oyeleke, assured the citizens and residents of Oyo State a serene and conducive environment.
