The Governor of Oyo State, ‘Seyi Makinde has on Thursday specially celebrated his wife, Engr. (Mrs) Tamunominini Makinde, as she clocks 50.
Makinde, on his timeline earlier this morning, shared a photo of his beautiful wife with the caption: “50 is gold and so are you. Happy birthday, my darling @iamominini. I pray that God grants you many more beautiful years. Love you always.”
Meanwhile, the Deputy Governor, Engr. Olaniyan has also felicitated with the Oyo First Lady, Mrs. Makinde on the occasion of her 50th birthday.
“I congratulate the First Lady of Oyo State, H.E Tamunominini Makinde, on the occasion of her 50th birthday. I pray that God will bless you with many more years filled with sound health and joy”, he wrote.
In a similar vein, the Oyo State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has celebrated wife of the state Governor, Engr. (Mrs.) Tamunominini Olufunke Makinde on the auspicious occasion of her 50th birthday, describing her as an uncommon first lady and a rare gem of uncommon class worthy of emulation by all.
According to a statement by the ruling PDP Spokesman in Oyo State, Akeem Olatunji, the party explained that Mrs. Makinde has through her simplicity and approach to public life displayed uncommon leadership traits peculiar to very rare people.
Justifying this statement, Oyo PDP noted that other governors’ wives from other states across Nigeria are known for open show of power and might, using the office of the First Lady to amass unjustifiable influence and affluence for themselves stressing that Mrs. Makinde has proved that she is a great woman of uncommon enviable class.
The party said many people across the state sometimes marvel at the level of simplicity by Mrs. Makinde being the First Lady of Oyo State, adding that she continues to live her normal life like every other Nigerian even in the face of great influence and affluence.
“We as a political party and as the ruling party in Oyo State celebrate our mother, sister, and Amazon of great repute. The life of Mrs. Makinde, wife of our God sent man, will no doubt go down in history as one with the best disposition to public life amidst great influence and affluence.
“Mrs. Makinde has no doubt been a great asset to not just our father and leader, Governor ‘Seyi Makinde but also Oyo State as a whole. We hope and desire that her light continues to shine brighter.
“It is no news that like her husband, the executive Governor of Oyo State, Mrs. Makinde is also a great Engineer of international repute and has continued to manage both her private and public life in such manner, that we have never witnessed before in our history as a state.
“She’s indeed a woman of great substance, uncommon class, a rare gem and a worthy ambassador of womanhood. She is truly an embodiment of a virtuous woman worthy of emulation by all.
“We pray that God will continue to keep and protect her to live to the fullness of her age in good health and sound mind even as she continues to provide selfless services to mankind. We wish her a 50 hearty cheers and a happy birthday and welcome her to the golden jubilee club”, the statement added.
Similarly, a group known as “The GSMists”, a brand that promotes the good governance of Governor Makinde has also congratulated the First Lady of Oyo State, Mrs Tamunominini Makinde on her birthday, describing her as woman of substance.
The GSMists, in a statement signed by their PRO, Bashorun Saintabey on Thursday, described the First Lady as a courageous and amiable woman, kindhearted and strong pillar of support for Governor ‘Seyi Makinde.
“The Golden Age is one described as a period of happiness, peace, prosperity, and or great progress. Those who know you and have been closely monitoring your steady rise in our sociopolitical sphere will realise and agree that indeed you are one of the rare women God has bestowed His unending favour and compassion upon.
“At 50, you have approached the acme of your social- political life with enviable and admirable gait and candor. Almighty God is indeed involved in your life’s journey.
“You have been a hard-working, resourceful, dedicated, loyal and people-friendly first lady, no wonder good people of Oyo State have reposed so much confidence in you.
“Your exemplary leadership quality has also seen the Okere of Sakiland in Oyo State, Oba (Dr) Khalid Oyedepo III, bestowed the traditional title of Yeye Aare Atayese and Aseyin of Iseyin also bestowed her the title of Yeye Aare Atunluto of Iseyinland, we are in no doubt that people have found in you a worthy leader and a great model of honour”, the statement added.
