Makinde Rewarded My Camp with 34 Appointments — Olopoeyan Declares

Prominent Ibadan-based political heavyweight, Alhaji Adebisi Olopoeyan, has declared his unwavering loyalty to Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, revealing that the governor accommodated his political structure with no fewer than 34 appointments.

Olopoeyan made this known during a recent interview, where he reflected on his relationship with the governor, admitting that their alliance was not without turbulence, particularly during Makinde’s first term in office.

According to him, “We had troubles after his victory during the first term; that was why we had a fight. But we have settled it now. Seyi Makinde gave me 34 appointments.”

The grassroots mobiliser, known for his influence in Ibadan politics, stated that the reconciliation between both men has restored mutual trust, strengthening their political alignment ahead of future developments in the state.

Speaking further, Olopoeyan stressed that his political future is firmly tied to that of the governor, regardless of party affiliation. He disclosed that he is currently not a member of any political party but would not hesitate to align with Makinde’s next political move.

“Today, I will go to any party Seyi Makinde goes to. If he likes, he should join APGA. Right now, I do not belong to any party, but I will join any party Seyi Makinde joins. Even if he stays in PDP, I will stay with him,” he said.
