Match Day 18: 3SC Defeats Kano Pillars, Receives N2m Cash Gift from Gov Makinde

Shooting Stars Sports Club, 3SC earlier this evening defeated Kano Pillars FC in an intensely contested match held at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan.

The match which started at 7 pm saw the Oluyole Warriors break through the defence of the Kano Pillars in the 14th minute with a goal by Ezeala Uche.

The Shooting Stars’ defence remained impenetrable throughout the match and they were able to secure a 3 points win putting them ahead of the Sai Musa Gida on the league’s table.

Prior to this win, the Ibadan soccer lords had not won any match after matchday 12, when they defeated Dakkada FC 1-0 with Faleye, incidentally coming off the bench to score the only goal in the second half.

The win over Dakkada, has been followed by two hone draws (0-0 against Wikki Tourists and 1-1 against Enugu Rangers) but the winless run ended in tonight’s matchday 18 encounter with Kano Pillars.

Speaking after the match, the ecstatic players said they gave their all to ensure their backers rejoiced again.

“It’s been long that our people rejoiced. Results of our games in the past weeks had not been encouraging and our people have been left to go home, wearing gloomy faces.

“Today, we changed the tide by beating Kano Pillars to make our people smile again”, they said.

Meanwhile,  the Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde had promised the Oluyole Warriors a N2million cash gift if they were able to defeat Kano Pillars.
