Muslim Association Organises Free Cataract Surgery for Residents in Oorelope LG

The Muslim World League has attracted praises from the Executive Chairman of Oorelope Local Government Area of Oyo State, Hon. Akeem Raheem, following their provision of free cataract surgery for residents and indigenes of the local government.

Describing this magnanimous act which came with other free eye checkups, the chairman said that he is highly pleased by the initiative of the Muslim league because issues of eye care cannot be overemphasized and this nice gesture has lifted a huge burden from the government’s shoulder

“I am using this opportunity to appreciate the Muslim World League for the critical intervention it made in Oorelope local Government in the areas of free eye test and surgery ” he said.

Hon. Raheem further added that a stunning number of 127 residents were beneficiaries of the free surgery and eye screenings combined and this pleased him greatly.

In his words, “On behalf of all the residents, I commend the worthwhile intervention of the Muslim World League and pray to Allah to reward the body accordingly.

Linking this act of kindness to the already set agenda of the Governor Makinde led Government, the chairman said that he is committed to using his office to ensure that the health of the indigenes and residents of Oore is prioritised and given the attention that it deserves.

He further called on groups and individuals to emulate the precedence set by the body and follow same as this will not only ease the pressure on the government but will increase awareness of people to eye problems as well as help the poor who cannot foot their medical bills.

” I an also using this opportunity to call on well-meaning individuals and organisations to come to Oorelope and partner with us on any area of interest. We are open to partnerships that can make life more meaningful for our people “he added.

The surgery which was conducted for free on indigenes and residents of the area held at the General Hospital, Igboho for four days
