Name Ibadan Airport After Late Ajimobi, Senator Buhari Tells FG

Senator Buhari AbdulFatai has suggested that the Federal Government should name the Ibadan Airport after the late Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.

While eulogizing the late Governor, Senator Buhari AbdulFatai moved the motion to name the airport after Ajimobi, stating that the late Governor recorded several feats in both private and public sectors and that Ajimobi had been the First Governor to be rewarded with a second tenure in Oyo state in recognition of his transformational achievements.

Senator Ibikunle Amosun also supported this motion and narrated how both Senator Ajimobi and himself met while the former was at National Oil and both of them later became Governors of Ogun and Oyo States respectively between 2011-2019.

The three positions in Senator Buhari AbdulFatai’s motion were adopted by the Senate.

The prayers are: to observe a minute silence in honour of Senator Abiola Ajimobi, send a high powered delegation to commiserate with his family, the Oyo State Government and the good people of Oyo State, and urge the Federal Government to name the Ibadan Airport after him.
