The National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, has withdrawn from the ongoing #EndSARS protest and implored other groups to follow suit.
The chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Oyo State chapter, Comrade Adebobola Agbeja, disclosed this in a chat with Oyo Affairs correspondent, this Tuesday.
According to comrade Agbeja, all chapters of the NYCN nationwide have received Operation Stand Down Order from it’s headquarters in Abuja.
She noted that the development became imperative so as to prevent the peaceful protests from being hijack by hoodlums and thugs.
The Oyo NYCN boss, maintained the youth council will not associate with anyone caught by the law enforcement agencies in the name of protest.
In a similar vein, the Oyo state government has appealed to the protesters not to vandalize and destroy properties but to ensure they protest peacefully to achieve their aims.
This was stated by the special assistant to governor Seyi makinde on Youth affairs, Hon. Kazeem Bolarinwa while addressing newsmen on the bloody protest held in Ibadan, this Tuesday.
Hon. Bolarinwa stated that it is the civil right of the youths to protest but government will not tolerate break down of law and order.
As at the time of filing this report, the protesters have completely taken over all major roads and streets in Ibadan metropolis, a development that forced residents to trekked willingly to their destinations.
