Nigeria Police Force Frowns at Attack on Police Station in Ibadan

The Leadership of the Nigeria Police Force has admonished the aggrieved youths in the country to conduct their protest in a civil manner as many of the protests have been hijacked by hoodlums.

The Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Department of Research and Planning, DIG Adeleye Oyebade, stated this while addressing newsmen following the attack on a police station at Orile-Iganmu Local Government in Lagos state and attack on Ojoo Police station in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The DIG assured the youths that all their demands will be considered by the Nigeria Police Force but cautioned the youths on Violent protests and violation of other Nigerians rights.

Oyo Affairs correspondent, reports that the peaceful protest staged at Ojoo area of Ibadan by the #EndSARS protesters turned bloody this Tuesday, following a clash between the protesters and the personnel of the Ojoo police division, a development that led to the protesters to set the police station ablaze.

In a statement, the Oyo state police command’s public relations officer, SP Olugbenga Fadeyi, confirmed that disgruntled elements and miscreants attacked Ojoo Police station in the name of protest.

Many casualties have been recorded around Ojoo area of Ibadan as lifeless bodies littered the area and many of the protesters sustained injuries from gunshots.
