Various leaders and members of the opposition parties received into the ruling Peoples Democratic Party on Wednesday by the Executive Governor of Oyo State, ‘Seyi Makinde, have been charged to remain committed to the party.
Welcoming the defectors, the governor’s aide, Hon Olajide Boladuro assured the new members of justice, fairness and equity among members of the PDP, while also calling on others to join the party which he described as a winning party.
He said, “We are very happy to have ADC members in our midst and we believe that it will boost the morale of our great party, it is a welcome development.
“That is why I will advise those that are defecting from the ADC to the PDP to compare and contrast. They should stay and continue doing well because our party has a brighter tomorrow, judging by the developmental strides and various accomplishments the Governor ‘Seyi Makinde–led administration has achieved in the last three and half years.
“You can see that my brother and friend, Hon Adedeji Stanley Olajide OdidiOmo, the member representing Ibadan Northwest/Southwest Federal Constituency has facilitated remarkable projects which are too numerous to mention.
“For this reason, we must all work together in unity to ensure all PDP candidates are voted for in the 2023 general elections”, he charged.
Meanwhile, the Ibadan Southwest Local Government chapter of the party has welcomed en-mass hundreds of members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ibadan Southwest Local Government into the ruling party.
The event which took place at United Missionary College (UMC), Oke–Ado, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, had in attendance notable leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which include, Director-General, Oyo State Gaming and Lottery Board, Hon Olajide Boladuro, Executive Chairman of Ibadan Southwest Local Government, Hon Kehinde Akande, Ibadan Southwest PDP Chairman, Hon Balogun Olumide Morufu, party leader in Ibadan Southwest, Abass Aleshinloye, Hon Wale Afolabi, Political Head of Ibadan West LCDA, Hon Tajudeen Adigun (ATU) and all local government party executives.
