The Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde has vowed to continue working to ensure that the Peoples Democratic Party in Oyo State (PDP), will deliver the next elections for all candidates of the party in Oyo State.
Speaking on his preparations and campaigns for Omititun 2.0, Makinde expressed optimism that his administration will be back for the inauguration of the tenth assembly to make another presentation and continue with the work of engineering a new Oyo State.
He stated this in his newsletter on Thursday after presenting the N310bn 2023 budget.
He reflected in the letter that the sustainable development budget transition one
In his words: “From what I have read, so many people are jumping the gun and trying to force decisions that we are still a long way from making. The task before us now is to strategise to ensure that in Oyo State, it is the PDP from top to bottom, which is what everyone who cares about good governance in Oyo State should be interested in”.
Canvassing for the support of the good people of Oyo State, he stated: “The gospel is Omituntun 2.0. Let us all work to actualise this for the benefit of the good people of Oyo State. In the coming weeks, I will share with you the role you can play to actualise Omituntun 2.0. Perhaps something you can easily do is join one of our volunteer groups where you can either work online or engage in door-to-door canvassing.
“Before I go, let me introduce my book of the month. It is a book about a Nigerian who rose through the ranks to become President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Dr Akinwumi Adesina. The book is titled ‘Against All Odds’. It is an authorised biography by Leon Hesser.
“I think I am going to enjoy reading this book. More so, I know Dr Adesina, and I believe he is one of Nigeria’s brightest shining stars on the international scene. I hope you read along with me as we learn how he went from living in poverty to fighting poverty through agriculture. I am sure we will have a whole lot to learn from him.
