Oyo Amotekun, OPC, Vigilante Apprehends Fulanis Terrorizing Residents


Gallant men of the of the Oyo State Joint Security Network involving the Amotekun Corps collaborating with the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) and the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) in the early hours of today, 29th April, 2021 apprehended six (6) bandits while on their joint routine patrol at Kajola Local Government area of Oyo state.

The armed bandits were separately arrested following encounters at 2 illegally mounted Road blocks. Although the criminals tried to flee from the crime scene to evade arrest, they were soon incapacitated after a hot pursuit by the operatives.


The bandits were identified and named as follows: Awali Atine, Ibrahim Abu, Shuaib Balau, Ibrahim Musa, Abdullah Masika and Umar Aliu Masika (All 6 arrested were of Bororo Fulani ethnic group) were arrested along Okeho-Ilua and Okeho – Iseyin Road at about 4am on Thursday, 29 April 2021.

The bandits’ modus operandi was to pretend to be herdsmen during the day and violently rob innocent passengers on the highways at night were caught with 183 cows, several weapons and a total sum of #268, 470.00..

The arrested criminals have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force of the Okeho Divisional HQ alongside their 183 cows, weapons and money found in their possession for further investigation.


The Oyo state police has also called on well-meaning Nigerians who have information regarding these arrested criminals to come forward with information which can help the Police force bring criminals at large to justice and to improve security in the state
