Oyo Commissioner of Police Deploys Tactical Team to Combat Crime

The Oyo State Commissioner of Police, CP Joe Nwachukwu Enwonwu, this Wednesday, said age will no longer be an excuse for anyone caught in a criminal act in the state.

The CP, while addressing newsmen on recent killings, armed robbery cum kidnapping cases in the state said being a youth is not a cover to get involved in any criminal activity.

CP Joe noted that anybody above eighteen years who commits criminal acts will be duly prosecuted, while minors will be sent to Juvenile homes and women will not be spared when it comes to crime.

Reacting to the reported annual celebration of secret Cult groups popularly known as ‘’Aiye confraternity’’ on 7th July, and ‘’Buccaneer’’ also known as Eiye confraternity on 8th of August, 2020 across the south-west states of Nigeria, the commissioner of police advised the youth to shun vices such as cultism as anyone caught will not have a second chance to repent.

Speaking on the suspects arrested in connection with recent murder cases in Akinyele area of the state, the CP hinted that police have made a lot of breakthroughs on its investigation and the public will be updated soonest.
