The hopes of small and medium-sized businesses in Oyo State that have been struggling to survive have been revived by the Oyo State House of Assembly as the House has passed the Enterprise and Employment Trust Fund Bill.

The trust Fund bill was given the “nod” after it passed the third reading in the house during the plenary session of the house held on Friday 3rd September 2021.

Mr Seyi Adisa, a member representing the Afijio State constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly who sponsored the bill, said the bill will be a big “win ” for small and medium-sizedd businesses and entrepreneurs in the State who have been searching for funds to run their businesses.

In his words “for the bill to have passed all the levels of reading on the floor of the 9th Assembly and sent to the Governor, there are hopes that the governor will append his signature to the bill which is people-oriented in order to help businesses in Oyo State to grow in the midst of the current economic hardship.

The lawmaker went on to say that he strongly believes that the bill will not only provide avenues for training youths who are ready to get into business as well as increasing their chances of getting employed due to the skills they will acquire during the actualisation of the enterprises and employment trust fund programme but will also attract the Governor’s attention and he will assent without much pressure.

The Oyo State House of Assembly led by Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin after passing the bill proceeded to send the bill to the executive governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde to sign the bill into law for further implementation.
