Reports About Rift with Seyi Makinde is False, Oyo Deputy Governor Debunks Rumor

Reacting to a viral online report by Sahara Reporters, the Oyo state Deputy governor; Engr. Raufu Olaniyan, has said that the said report headlined: “Governor Makinde’s Deputy, Olaniyan has vowed never to end rift with his boss” was baseless, misleading and completely untrue.

In a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Oyo state deputy governor, Mr. Omolere Omoetan, Olaniyan affirmed that he had no rift with the governor, adding that even if there was, as a devote Muslim, he would seek for resolution and would not take a stand contrary to common sense as reported by Sahara Reporters.

The Deputy Governor commented that he has a mandate to work with His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde in a bid to delivering good governance to Oyo state residents.

He held that his mandate as the Oyo state deputy governor will not be swayed nor distracted by false reports emanating from suspicious sources and that his office is committed to working with the governor’s office.

Olaniyan appealed to people disregard the statement attributed to him by the imaginary source quoted in the report by Sahara reporters. He stressed, for the avoidance doubt, that he would continue to work diligently with His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, to provide people oriented governance to the people in line with the governor’s ideals and vision.

In conclusion, he advised the forces working to cause discord between him and the governor to direct their actions unto better things as their machinations, schemes and plots is dead on arrival.
