Residents of Oko, Ogbomoso Cry Out for Help as Heavy Downpour Wreaks Havoc

People of Oko, in the Surulere local government area of Oyo state, on Wednesday suffered many losses after a heavy downpour.

The stormy rain which started at about twenty minutes past seven on Wednesday evening, lasted for about eighteen minutes. The rain fell so hard that it blew away many house roof-tops, swept off many shops and pulled off tree branches.

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) in Surulere local government and the Ogbomoso Zonal Chapter while commiserating with the affected residents, has also called on the Surulere Local Government Authority under the leadership of Hon. Isaiah Adegbite and the Oyo state government led by Gov. ‘Seyi Makinde, to as a matter of urgency see to helping the victims out of the colossal loss.

It also appealed to other agencies like FERMA, House of Representative member in the area, Bunvic among many others, to come to the aid of the victims.
