Slain Farmer: Ibadan chief gives 7-day ultimatum to Herdsmen to return ransom collected from family

One Ibadan family head; Wale Oladoja on Tuesday gave seven-day ultimatum to herdsmen residing in Abaodo Area, Olukitibi Village, Akinyele local government, Ibadan to return N1.6m collected from the family of a business man Wole Agboola, who was abducted and killed in his farm.

It was gathered that the family head raised concerns over the surge in kidnapping and maiming of the people in the south Western states.

He hinted that he has been consulting traditional leaders in the area, noting that those accosted of the kidnap of Agboola were herdsmen and summarily warned to refund the money within a space of Seven days.

“I am still wondering why those we accommodated suddenly turned to our enemies. The abducted young business man with promising future was only doing his business when they attacked him and whisk him away.

“To make it worse, they collected N1.6m from his family and later killed him. All this happened on my land. I have started consulting and I am giving them seven days to refund the money collected from the family.

“We have accommodated them enough and we cannot tolerate the anymore. I calling on all the traditional rulers in Odudua land to wake up and chase these monsters out of our land before they turn Yoruba land to battle field,” he said.
