Two Dead, Two Injured as Bus Rams Into Truck on Lagos–Ibadan Expressway

Barely 72 hours after a fatal accident claimed four lives leaving eight others with varying degrees of injuries on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, another fatal accident has claimed two lives, leaving two others injured along the same corridor on Monday.

Confirming the incident, the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps indicated that the accident involved a commercial Toyota Hiace bus with number plate — GME 841XC and a waste disposal truck with number plate — KSF 320 XY, adding that it occurred at Mowe axis while it was headed towards Ibadan.

The Public Relations Officer, TRACE, Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi said the driver of the commercial bus carrying 18 passengers was speeding and it ran into the stationary truck which parked due to mechanical problem.
