Ahead of the 2023 elections, the camp of the Peoples Democratic Party in Oyo state has again increased in numbers as notable politicians and professionals who served in various capacities during the Ajimobi government have joined Mógaji Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe in the PDP.
Sequel to Tegbe’s defection and confirmation of his candidature as the PDP Oyo South Senator, many members of the APC and other parties have since joined the PDP to support Tegbe and to actualise the re-election of Governor Seyi Makinde.
The officials, who declared their support during a solidarity visit to the Bódìjà residence of the Ibadan Mogaji, noted that their decision was based on the competence of Tegbe and their belief in his capacity to provide excellent representation for the people of Oyo South Senatorial District.
In his response, Mogaji Tegbe thanked the leaders for their confidence in him and assured them that they would be taken care of.
Earlier in their separate remarks, they noted that Oyo APC, as presently constituted, has lost her progressivism as staunch conservatives now populate its leadership. They affirmed they were leaving APC with their supporters across the state to support the Senatorial ambition of Mogaji Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe and the re-election bid of Governor Seyi Makinde.
