Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, well known as Sunday Igboho has issued a stern warning to former presidential candidates Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar against campaigning in the South-West ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
In a viral video on Sunday, Igboho threatened to disrupt any attempts by supporters of Obi and Atiku to campaign in Yorubaland.
“No more useless Atiku or Obi in Yorubaland,” he declared. “If you know that you are crazy, campaign for one Atiku or Obi in Yoruba region.”
The activist also reaffirmed his total support for Bola Tinubu, pledging to work towards his third term. “Tinubu for second term; beyond 2027. 100 per cent. After eight years of Asiwaju, we’ll pray for extra years. Throughout Lagos and Yorubaland, it’s for Asiwaju. We will all vote for him,” Igboho stated.
Igboho’s warning comes two months after he returned to Nigeria on January 26, 2026, following the removal of his name from the Federal Government’s wanted list. His return followed appeals from prominent traditional rulers, including Oba Rashidi Ladoja, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi and Oba Francis Alao.
Igboho had fled Nigeria on July 1, 2021, after a raid on his Ibadan, Oyo State residence by officers of the State Security Services and the Nigerian Army over alleged stockpiling of arms amid his campaign against armed Fulani herdsmen in the South-West.
During his exile, he was declared wanted, denied a Nigerian passport, and had his bank accounts frozen, despite court rulings in his favor.
