Oyo Govt. Declares Thursday Public Holiday to Mark Isese Day

The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde has approved the declaration of Thursday 20th. August, 2026 as a work- free day to mark “Isese Day” celebration in the state.

The Secretary to the Oyo State Government, Prof. Musibau Babatunde made this known in a statement made available to newsmen by Abiodun Atilola, Media Officer to the SSG/HOS on Wednesday.

Prof. Babatunde urged people to used the occasion to pray for the peace, unity and stability of the State and the country in general.

The statement said “The Oyo State Governor, His, Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde has graciously declared Thursday 20th August, 2026, a work-free day to mark ” Isese day” celebration in Oyo State”.

The statement added further that “His Excellency has therefore requested that the occasion be used to pray for the Peace, Unity and stability of the State in particular and the country in general”.
