Dissolution of LAUTECH Joint Ownership Almost done – Oyo Govt

The Oyo State Commissioner of Education, Barrister Olasunkanmi Olaleye has disclosed that the dissolution of the joint ownership of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology is almost concluded.

Olaleye affirmed this while attending to a delegation from the Ladoke Akintola Foundation in his office on Friday, 17 July 2020.

Olaleye revealed that the State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde is enthusiastic about providing a solid educational background for indigenes and residents of the state.

Olaleye commended the management of Ladoke Akintola Foundation for their efforts in maintaining the image of the late premier of the western region and urged them to do more in sensitizing the public about the contributions of the late Ladoke Akintola to the Nation.

“It is unfortunate that Ladoke Akintola did not live long to defend himself, his children and supporters were also young when he died so it was difficult for them to defend all the lies against Akintola but since you have taken up the task, you have to do it well.

“Although people are knowing the truth now but don’t relent’ dig out more facts about him , his achievements and his style of politics spread it, let the younger generation be properly informed.”

While acknowledging the Commissioner, the coordinator of the foundation, Mr Yemi Adedokun said that Ladoke Akintola Family and Foundation appreciated the effort of the government on education especially in LAUTECH which was named after the late premier.

Adedokun said that some of the projects to immortalise Akintola’s name were the public lectures held in Ibadan, Ogbomoso and Lagos as well as the conversion of a part of his building in his Ogbomoso country home into a library for public use.

“Already we have packed over 5000 books found in the house into a place and by the time we completed the library we will open it for public use.

Adedokun also donated books and face masks to the state government on behalf of the family and explained that the donations were part of the efforts to support the government in the fight against COVID-19.
