The Oyo state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, on Monday, Flagged off Free Health Mission for residents in all the 33 local government areas of the state.
The Medical Mission billed to cover all local government areas of Oyo state, was flagged off at Local Authority Primary School, Agede, Kisi in Oke-Ogun axis of Oyo state.
In his speech, Governor Makinde noted that the decay in the health sector over the last few decades warranted the need to organize a health intervention which is free and assessable to the grassroots.
The governor also directed all local government caretaker chairmen and local council development areas chairpersons in the state to channel 7.5percent of their funds into the primary health care service delivery.
In his remark, the state commissioner for Health, Dr. Bashir Bello, stated that the ongoing recruitment of healthcare workers will help in achieving an hitch free medical mission.
Speaking on behalf of all traditional rulers and residents of Oke-Ogun, the Iba of Kisi, HRM, Oba Lawal Arowoduye the 2nd, maintained that the presence of the governor at the occasion, underscores the importance that the Makinde led administration has for health and well-being of the people of the state.
In a similar vein, the governor inspected the ongoing construction project of Moniya-Iseyin road and declared the work level satisfactory.
The Governor also commissioned Police Mobile force No. 72 Squadron headquarters at Ago Are of Atisbo local government area of Oyo state.
