The Ekerin Balogun of Ibadan land, High Chief Olubunmi Isioye, has donated the sum of N2 million for the rehabilitation of the road leading to the Alarere residence of Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Lekan Balogun.
Otun Balogun of Ibadan land, High Chief Tajudeen Ajibola, disclosed this after the Olubadan-in-Council meeting held at the Alarere residence of the monarch, on Tuesday.
High Chief Ajibola explained that members of the Olubadan-in-Council were unhappy with the condition of the road leading to the palace, which informed the action spearheaded by the Ekerin Balogun.
He noted that with the donation, efforts would be made to fix the road as quickly as possible.
He also revealed that the council has lifted the ban on the promotion of High Chiefs, installation of Baales and Mogajis with effect from June 2022.
“After we might have completed the suspended exercise, it would be the turn of Iyalode line and after that, we would begin the installation of new Baales and Mogajis. The meeting resolved to put our house in order and ensure that council members are all carried along in the processes leading to promotion of chiefs and installation of Mogajis and Baales”, he stated.
In the meantime, the meeting had in attendance all the High Chiefs led by Balogun of Ibadan land and Otun Olubadan designate, High Chief Owolabi Olakulehin and Sen. Rashidi Ladoja respectively.
Other members of the Olubadan-in-Council in attendance include High Chiefs Lateef Gbadamosi Adebimpe (Osi-Balogun); Kola Adegbola (Ashipa Balogun); Olubunmi Dada Isioye (Ekerin Balogun); Abiodun Azeez Agagagugu (Ekerin Balogun); Eddy Oyewole (Osi Olubadan designate); Abiodun Kola-Daisi (Ashipa Olubadan designate) and Hamidu Ajibade (Ekerin Olubadan designate).
