Makinde Visits Scene of Apata Fire Outbreak, Assures Victims of Support

The Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, on Thursday visited the scene of the tanker fire explosion in Apata area of Ibadan, and assured victims of the government’s support as he sympathised with them.

The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Barrister Bayo Lawal, described the incident as saddening, while also thanking God that no life was lost in the inferno that resulted from the accident.

His words: “The government of Oyo State under the leadership of Governor ‘Seyi Makinde sympathises with all our people who lost properties, goods and other sources of livelihood to the unfortunate incident.

“We enjoin you to take consolation in the fact that no life was lost in the incident. May the Almighty God comfort you all, and give you the fortitude to bear the losses”, he added.

He assured the victims of government support to them in order to assuage the effect of the incident.

He also advised motorists, particularly drivers of articulated vehicles to always ensure that their vehicles are in good condition before embarking on any journey.

In the meantime, the deputy governor was accompanied by the Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Hon Abiodun Oni.
