The Acting Governor of Oyo State, Barr. Adebayo Abdul-raheem Lawal has again pledged the unwavering support of current administration, to the revitalisation of the Sports Council in the state.
The deputy governor made this pledge while receiving the management of Oyo State Sport Council on Wednesday at Government House, Agodi, Ibadan.
In his briefing to the Acting Governor, Mr. Gbenga Adewusi Arole, Chairman of the Council, expressed his gratitude for granting them listening ears to challenges bedeviling the council.
“While it is important to express our gratitude for allowing us to have this discussion, we also want to seek the support of current administration in repositioning our council to meet expectations for the twenty-first century.
“There’s currently a shortfall of developments across board in the council, thus addressing those issues must take priority as soon as possible”, he stated.
In the meantime, Barr. Lawal, in furtherance to his pledge said: “The situation of Sport Council hasn’t always been encouraging but we will do everything we can to straighten out the whole thing and get it back in the best possible shape— a pacesetter figure.
“Obviously, much has been discussed. So, know that I will do everything in my power to address some of the issues brought up, and you can count on finding solutions as soon as our governor returns”, he added.
