The Oyo State Government has said palliatives will be given to one hundred and twenty thousand households in the state starting from next week to cushion the effects of COVID-19 on its citizens.
The state Commissioner for Special Duties, Chief Bayo Lawal, disclosed this on Wednesday during a chat with Oyo Affairs correspondent.
The commissioner hinted that the distribution of the economic stimulus package will commence early next week and the distribution will be based on geopolitical zones.
He affirmed that there will be a total lockdown in the state for two to three days so as to guaranteed effectiveness in the distribution of the economic stimulus package and for the safety of the distributors.
He, however, maintained that the palliatives will be distributed in all parts of the state simultaneously and that government will be transparent with the distribution.
