Poultry Farmer Abducted in Ibadan, Kidnappers Demand N100m Ransom

The Oyo State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of a 24-year-old poultry farmer, Ayodeji Emmanuel by unknown gunmen who invaded Oke Odan, Olomo area of Apete Community in Ibadan.

The Commissioner of Police, Ngozi Onadeko in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Command, Gbenga Fadeyi confirmed the incident adding that the Divisional Police Officers in Apete led Police patrol teams to the scene along with some local hunters and vigilantes to comb the near bushes with a view of arresting the hoodlums as well as guaranteeing the release of the victim.

It was leant that the abductors came to the victim’s father’s farm with guns where he was working, and started shooting, to instil fear in the workers and others on the farm premises.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police has assured the residents of Oyo State of the Police’s preparedness at all times to confront the hoodlums who are bent on wreaking havoc in the State, while soliciting the unflinching supports of the general public not to allow criminal elements have a place to hibernate among them.

The Gunmen have however demanded a sum of N100 million as ransom from the family for the farm owner’s son, who was kidnapped, to regain his freedom.

The kidnappers used the victim’s phone to call his father at about 10:00 pm on Monday to demand the ransom but are yet to call back, according to informed sources in the community.
