VeryDarkMan Appeals to Tinubu as Abducted Oyo principal Reveals Bandits’ Demand

Online media critic, VeryDarkMan, has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider the demands of the kidnappers holding dozens of schoolchildren and teachers abducted in Oyo State.

VDM made the appeal in a video shared online after a new clip released by the abductors surfaced on Monday, June 9, 2026.

In the video, one of the captives, identified as Rachael Alamu, the principal of Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle, addressed the public and urged the government to engage the kidnappers in dialogue.

According to her, the abductors have not forced the captives to practice any religion and are not demanding the implementation of Sharia law, money, or weapons as widely speculated.

“We have been here all this while for the past 24 days, and we have not been forced to worship in an Islamic way. We have been left alone and they have never troubled us,” she said.

“Concerning Sharia law, they are not demanding Sharia law or money. They only requested the release of some of their people. I don’t know why these rumours are being spread, making the situation more complicated for us.

“Please, don’t play politics with our lives. Nigerians, help us, our lives are in your hands. It is not true that they requested weapons or money. The government should negotiate with them to know those they want released in exchange for our freedom.”

Reports indicate that the kidnappers are seeking the release of suspects currently being held at Agodi and Abolongo correctional facilities.

Reacting to the video, VDM urged President Tinubu and security authorities to listen to the captives’ plea and explore possible solutions that could lead to their safe release.
The mass abduction reportedly occurred on May 15, 2026, when armed men invaded three schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State during a coordinated morning attack.

The affected institutions include Community High School in Esinle, Baptist Nursery and Primary School in Yawota, and L.A. Primary School.

A total of 46 people were reportedly abducted, including 39 pupils and students—some as young as two years old—and seven teachers.
The incident sparked nationwide outrage, particularly after a disturbing video emerged showing the killing of Michael Oyedokun, a mathematics teacher at Community High School, while in captivity.
