Ibadan North LG to Host 2nd Edition of NYSC Inter Local Government Sports Competitions

In a bid to spring forth new initiatives to redefine youth and sports development especially among the youth corps members, Ibadan North local government council is set to host the second edition of the NYSC inter local government football and volley ball competition.

The competition tagged, “NYSC Inter Local Government Football and Volley Ball Competition”, will be held at the Liberty Stadium today, 12th of November, 2021; with the finals slated to hold on the 16th of December, 2021 at the Adamasingba Main Bowl, Ibadan.

The Sports Coordinator, NYSC, Austin Obuerafor disclosed to newsmen that the motive and purpose of the competition was to foster unity, engage youth corps members with sporting activities as well as discourage youth corps members from unnecessary travels.

The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Yussuf Sahib Oladayo; through his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr. Akinwale Bodija, reiterated his commitments towards sporting activities and youth empowerment most especially in Ibadan North local government.

“I can remember vividly the chairman of Ibadan North local government, welcoming the youth corpers to the local government, assuring the corps members of his utmost support and letting them know his doors are widely open to innovations and suggestions that have to do with the youths in the council area. Therefore, it’s not news that Ibadan North local government is having a major stake on this competition”, Akinwale concluded.

Meanwhile, it was gathered that the second edition of the competition will indulge the participation of twelve local governments from Ibadan.
