Three Dead, Six Injured as Bus Rams Into Truck on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

It was a tragic Christmas morning after three persons lost their lives while six others suffered varying degrees of injuries, when a speeding Toyota bus rammed into a moving truck along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

According to traffic reports from the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, the incident occurred around 5.24am, adding that the bus was on its way to Lagos, while the driver lost control at the Kara axis due to speeding.

A total number of 11 male passengers were in the bus with number plate AYB 88 XP, but the number plate of the truck was not supplied.

Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer, TRACE, Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi told NOTM the truck had fled the scene before the arrival of the TRACE and security operatives.

He said, “According to an eyewitness account,the driver of the Toyota hiace bus was speeding and he rammed the vehicle into a moving truck, which left the scene of incident before arrival of traffic managers and security operatives.

In the meantime, the injured passengers were rushed to Famobis Hospital in Mowe while the corpses were deposited at Idera morgue in Sagamu.
